Program Description:
Kenya & Tanzania
Join Hope Without Boarders during Winter break for an adventure to Kenya! Travel to Tanzania within view of Mt. Kilimanjaro to deliver healthcare to those in need as well as take back road excursions to a coffee plantation, visit an orphanage to bring HOPE to hundreds of kids. Travel to Kenya where zebras, giraffes and other animals roam free. No one leaves unchanged!

Students who join this program will be required to register for one of the following courses:

MSN 892: Global Perspectives- Kenya
This courses are listed in the Spring semester.

Travel Dates

2018:  May 17th-May 31st, 2018

2019: May 19-June 1, 2019*

*In 2019, the program will only be visiting Kenya in order to spend more immersive time there. 


This course is led by Dr. Julia Parve, instructor in the graduate nursing program at Concordia, and founder of Hope without Borders, an Christian NGO that provides access to healthcare to people on 3 continents. For questions about the program, please email her at: 


  • Must be a graduate nursing student
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the institution.
  • Must register for one of the associated courses. 
  • Must comply with all deadlines for applications, document submissions, deposits and other payments.


  • Program Fees: $4,500  (2019: $3,600-3,900)
  • Tuition (3 credits)
  • Study Abroad Fee: $50
  • iNext Insurance Costs: $50


Included in the Program Fees are:
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Airport transfer and ground transportation
  • Luggage fees for up to 1 checked bags under 50 pounds 
  • Lodging
  • Safari excursion!

Not Included:
  • Fees associated with obtaining a valid passport or visa*
